Princess Diana has been praised by Britney Spears as a “genius” in a gushing Instagram post. The singer posted a tribute to the late Royal amid the Martin Bashir Panorama interview controversy.

Posting in view of her 29.9 million followers, Britney posted a series of images of Princess Diana.

Alongside these, she penned: “She never wanted to be the queen … she wanted to be the heart of the people !!!!!!!!

“She was more than class … she was sheer genius down to the way she spoke to the way she mothered her children.”

The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer then added how she will be remembered as remarkable.

She added: “The essence of being completely oblivious to her own power !!!!

“750 MILLION people watched her get married on TV !!!!

“She will always be remembered as one of the most remarkable women to date !!!!!”

Brtiney’s tribute comes as Diana’s classic Panorama interview has been brought under investigation.

However, the singer steered clear of any mention of this in her tribute to the royal.

Many of the star’s followers were moved by her post, weighing in on their thoughts below.

One penned in response: “The queen has spoken.”

While another added: “We all love Princess Diana.”

“Omg we love you. The queens,” wrote a third.

Another pointed out some similarities between Britney and Princess Diana.

They said: “You have tons of similarities with her life and how the media treated her !

“You are also an amazing woman that has influenced millions of people. We love you Britney.”

Her tribute was the second time she posted yesterday following a cryptic message to her fans.

She penned earlier in the day: “No matter what curve balls life has thrown at you …

“No matter how many times you feel or have been disrespected …

“No matter how many times you’ve cried or worried …

“No matter how many times you feel like God has given you way more than you can handle …
