The queen of comebacks Chrissy Teigan, 35, has deleted her Twitter account forever after admitting she’s “too sensitive” to continue using the site. Her legendary jibes saw her take aim at the likes of Donald Trump on more than one occasion, but alas she revealed it’s time she said goodbye.

Please know all I ever cared about was you

In a series of tweets on Wednesday night, she broke the sad news to fans, commending them for their loyalty over the years but noted the site no longer plays a positive role in her life.

“For over 10 years you guys have been my world,” Teigen wrote to her 13.7 million followers.

“But it’s time to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”

Despite being famous and married to singer John Legend, her account had a reputation of its own, known for its playful banter, funny observations and fierce retorts for those she disagreed with or who criticised her.

She continued: “My life goal is to make people happy.

“The pain I feel when I don’t is too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not.

“My desire to be liked and fear of p***ing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!”

Teigen urged people to remember the importance of their words, confessing she felt “deeply bruised” from the backlash she’s received over the years.

Last year, the model shared the heartbreak of a miscarriage on the site, posting a series of harrowing images of her in the hospital, cradling their baby in her arms.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve but some felt it was “insensitive” and “shameful” to post such painful moments on social media for all to see and didn’t hesitate in telling the couple.

The star’s heartfelt statement concluded: “I’m just a sensitive s**t, okay!? I don’t wanna be this way! I just am!

“But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do. I also hate you.”

She deactivate her account shortly after, leaving fans lost for words.

Many took to the social media platform to share their sadness, with one writing: “You f*****s bullied Chrissy Teigen off Twitter. All she did was share recipes and tell dumb jokes. What the hell is wrong with you.”

Another agreed: “I’m bummed about Chrissy Teigen leaving Twitter. People and the media can be brutal for no reason. This website is worse off now that she is not here.”

Meanwhile others celebrated her departure, bringing up some controversial posts she had shared in the past.
