Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Lansford, both 60, have taken to Twitter to break their silence on Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary replacing them on This Morning. They penned: “It’s a changing of the guard on Fridays from January.
“We hope you make Alison and Dermot as welcome as you’ve made us over the years. Have a Ball you two!
“It’s not Goodbye from us, it’s simply Au Revoir until the next half term.”
The couple also retweeted a post from This Morning’s official page.
The statement from ITV read: “We are pleased to announce that Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are set to join the This Morning family as regular hosts.

“The duo will share hosting duties with Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes OBE and Ruth Langsford from January 2021.”
Eamonn and Ruth will now only host the ITV show during the holidays, while Alison and Dermot take over their regular hosting slot on Fridays.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will continue to present This Morning from Monday to Thursday, with breaks during school holidays.
These breaks will be covered by Ruth and Eamonn.
Alison and Dermot will host This Morning on Fridays from 8th January 2021.
However, it has not yet been confirmed when Ruth and Eamonn’s last Friday show will be.
Alison and Dermot did not reference Ruth and Eamonn when the news was announced today.
Alison said in a statement: “I never dreamt that when I first joined This Morning – initially for a few months – that I would still be there 19 years later.
