Fans are used to seeing him on our screens alongside his sister Sophie on Gogglebox, and yesterday Pete shared a glimpse into his love life by sharing a picture alongside his girlfriend on Instagram.

Posting an adorable snap of himself and his lady love Paige Yeomans on his page, the 26-year-old wrote: "My Mrs and best mate what more could I ask for, don't worry @sophiesandiford1 you are a close second best friend. This was taken last year FYI."

However, the Channel 4 star was met with cruel comments by trolls who claimed he was "punching" by being with the beauty.

One troll commented: "What attracted the beautiful Paige to the TV star Pete? #wayoftheworld #punching," whilst another said: "Well punching."

Another Instagram user wrote: "Batting there fella,", while a different troll said: "Your punching Pete."

However, many of Pete's supporters were quick to jump to his defence with one fan writing: "I don't know why people feel the need to say he's punching. But then again people who are like that are only jealous or insecure."

Another user commented: "What's with the nasty comments? Just let the guy be happy!!!

"People actually wonder why we live in a generation with so many mental health problems, because rather than be happy for somebody they post irrelevant and hurtful comments over social media," a fan rightfully said.

Pete and his sister Sophie burst onto our screens for the first time on Gogglebox in 2018 and since then, the sibling duo have become firm favourites thanks to their entertaining comments and humour.

The pair live with their parents in Blackpool, with both of them having jobs away from the cameras, with Pete working in insurance and Sophie being a shop window dresser.

The family are related to the famous Chuckle Brothers Paul and his late brother Barry, with Paul, 72, making the mind blowing revelation in 2019 after sharing a picture together on Twitter.

One user tweeted: "Wait. Are you related??, with Paul confirming: "We most certainly are."
