Gogglebox star Paige Deville, who quit the in September, took to Instagram to tell fans she’ll not be with her family over the festive period as she sympathised with those in the same situation. After stepping down from the show this year, the 25-year-old revealed she was no longer on speaking terms with her mum and former co-star Sally Hayward.

In view of her 10,000 followers, she wrote: “I wasn’t going to post this on here, but it might help other people in the same situation.

“Due to many reasons I am spending Christmas Day alone this year.

“A first time for everything but I’m positive and my plan is to eat, drink, listen to music, watch films and be merry.

“If anyone is in the same boat then drop me a message, don’t feel alone and let’s use social media to its advantage.

“Remember that God creates his strongest soldiers by giving them the toughest battles. Merry Christmas.”

The reality star also shared a post dedicated to those who were struggling over the festive period with problems such as feeling lonely or losing a loved one.

In September, Paige said a drama within her family had sparked her decision to leave Gogglebox.

She wrote: “There have been problems within the family and my mum was given an ultimatum.

“The decision means I have nothing to do with her now.

“I think the decision is irreversible. It is very sad but that’s life unfortunately.”

Speaking to Birmingham Live, she added she was invited back to film with another family member on the show, but declined.

The mother and daughter duo, from Birmingham, first joined the programme in 2019.

In a previous statement announcing her exit, she claimed she was given no support by the Channel 4 show.

Paige said that while her time filming from her sofa had been “an experience”, she couldn’t continue the long hours of filming, as well as the “restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions & zero aftercare support”.

A show spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “The welfare of contributors – past and present – is of paramount importance and robust protocols are in place to support contributors before, during and after taking part in the series.”

In her latest grid post, Paige was all smiles for the camera as she posed ahead of an evening out this week.

The blonde beauty stunned in a woolly cream jumper, camouflage-print trousers and heels.

She commented: “Kill them with success & bury them with a smile.”

Many of her fans flocked to her post to comment.
