Gordon Ramsay has given his daughter Tilly’s Strictly Come Dancing partner Nikita Kuzmin the seal of approval.

A source has exclusively told OK! that the celebrity chef has “welcomed” dancer Nikita “into the family” and he’s a big fan.

They said: “She’s doing such a great job on Strictly. She’s really enjoying the show and she and Nikita are getting on so well together. There’s real chemistry between them. Gordon loves him too – and has welcomed him into the family.”

Nikita was quick to show his support for his celebrity partner after she was body shamed live on LBC.

Radio host Steve Allen called the 19 year old a “chubby little thing” live on air.

After Tilly released a statement on Instagram about the comments, Nikita commented beneath her post with a red heart emoji and the words “#bekind”.

The source went on to say that Gordon was left “fuming” by the comments, but he was “very proud” of his youngest daughter for speaking up about it.

They said: “Tilly was so brave to speak out about the body shaming. A lot of people told her just to leave it and ignore the comments, but she was so determined.

“Gordon was fuming by the comments, but he told her she had to fight her own battles. He didn’t want to get involved. He’s very proud of her.

“Tilly is doing so well on Strictly and she’s basically sticking two fingers up at the haters. She rose like a phoenix from it.”

Tilly and Nikita’s bond on the BBC One show has been clear from the star, and the pair have impressed the judges week after week.

Tilly topped the leaderboard with Nikita, who was born in the Ukraine but moved to Italy when he was nine, earlier this month when they scored 34 points for their Charleston.

Dad Gordon was spotted sobbing in the audiences in a series of sweet scenes.

And last week’s show saw the pair get their highest score yet with their Foxtrot following a “tough” week after the body shaming.

As Tilly waited to hear her scores, she admitted that it had been a "tough" and "challenging" week as she spoke about the gruelling rehearsals.

She said: "It's been a tough week working on all the technique and it's been challenging but I'm so glad we put in all that work and improved from week one as that was the aim."
