Holly Willoughby gave a warning that her new dog wasn’t fully toilet trained as she presented the adorable pooch on This Morning on Wednesday.

After sharing footage of the latest addition to her family with her followers the day before, the 40-year-old brought in her dog – named Bailey – to the ITV studios to meet co-host Phillip Schofield and the crew.

Holly introduced Bailey to This Morning viewers also as she sat beside Phillip on the couch – with the furry one herself laid well-rested in-between them.

“Well, we’ve got a very special visitor here in the studio today, I’m delighted to introduce you to the newest member of my family – this is Bailey, who has sort of fallen asleep!” She said watching over her nonchalant pup.

Later on in the show as the pair spoke to Dr Scott Miller, who gave advice to dog owners on how to handle their pooches, Holly explained how it’s been teaching her young pet to go to the toilet.

“The hardest bit is the toilet training,” she revealed.

“Overnight is a little bit tricky; I normally wake up to a little present in the morning which is fine.”

Dr Scott instructed that the presenter use puppy pads whilst training her dog, encouraging her that these are a “great way for them to know where they can go inside the house.”

He also warned pet owners not to reprimand their pooches if they do end up leaving a “treat”, but instead make themselves available to go for walks with their dog so that they can venture outside and do their business.

While Holly’s dog might not yet have perfected her potty skills, it appeared on the show that she was certainly well trained in another, as the This Morning presenter showed off Bailey’s party trick to viewers shortly after her introduction.

“Bailey are going to say ‘hello?’” she asked her pet as continued to lie in-between herself and Phillip.

After first seeming unmovable, the cute pooch abruptly sat up with a fixed gaze at the pink chew toy Holly had raised above her head.

“Bailey.Bailey…are you ready? Do you want it?” Holly asked as she slowly put the toy down beside the dog.

“Bailey leave it…leave it Bailey…leave it – Bailey get it!”

Obediently, the dog snapped up the squeezy item to the impressed reactions of Phillip and those in the studio.
