Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has opened up about the reason he quit Twitter.
The actor, who stars on the Channel 4 soap as Ste Hay, faced criticism from followers because of the storyline he acted out.
Kieron, 33, was used to people making negative comments on social media, but he drew the line when his children were being targeted.
Speaking exclusively to OK! magazine, he described how his radicalisation storyline led to trolling.
He said: “I had people saying things like: ‘You’re teaching your kid to be racist. You’re an irresponsible parent.’
“I just couldn’t deal with people saying things about my kids.”
His spouse, Carl Hyland, added: “When I see those comments, I want to retaliate but then I’m becoming a keyboard warrior myself and I don’t want to do that.”
Kieron and Carl have two kids together, Phoebe and Chase, but they originally planned on adding to their brood straight away.
The soap star told OK!: “We were going to have another straight away, but I don’t think anything prepared us for having two babies at once, so we’ve put the brakes on it!
“With surrogacy, you go from a full night’s sleep to ‘You’ve got two kids, now do it.’”
Carl continued: “Once the kids get a bit more self-sufficient, we’ll look at having another one.

“As long as we don’t get a couple of ‘three-nagers’! We say another ‘one’, but we’ll probably end up with twins again!”
