Kate Garraway is seen yelling that she misses her husband Derek Draper in a new heartbreaking teaser clip for her documentary, Finding Derek.

Derek, 53, was admitted to hospital in March 2020 after showing symptoms of coronavirus. He was put into an induced coma to help his recovery and woke up for the first time in October last year to tell doctors he was in pain, but he's since been in a PDOC coma (Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness), which means he is generally unresponsive.

In a new trailer for Kate's ITV documentary about her emotional journey as her husband recovers from the effects of Covid-19, after it "attacked everything", Kate can be seen crying in frustration.

The clip opens with writing on a black background, which reads: "In March 2020, Kate Garraway's husband was hospitalised with Covid-19."

The camera then cuts to a scene of Kate, also 53, looking downcast as her voiceover states: "Derek is the sickest person the team of doctors have treated that's lived."

A photo of Derek lying in his hospital bed is then briefly shown, before we see another black background with writing that reads: "One year later, Derek is still in hospital".

The Good Morning Britain presenter can be seen wearing a denim shirt as she holds two files and heartbreakingly shouts: "Derek, I miss you!"

Kate is then heard saying in the voiceover: "Or will he be alive, but no longer the person he was? You shouldn't have to think like that," as clips from their wedding day plays.
