The 43-year-old thanked viewers for their support as they helped to raise money for BBC’s Children In Need.

The sweet message caught the attention of his wife Nicola Baker who gushed over her other half.

Matt began: “Hope you can join us tonight for the 11th Rickshaw Challenge! We’re on BBC One at 7.30pm.

“Over the years you’ve supported so many children who were in need now they are incredible young adults, proof you will see tonight.

“The Rickshaw is always a highlight of my year, it makes me appreciate all that’s good in our country, celebrate community and shows in spades how we love a randomly bonkers bit of fundraising!”

He added: “Thanks for all your support over the years and here’s to raising what we can tonight for those hoping that someone is gonna help them out.”

Nicola replied: “Really proud of you.”
