Pete Bennett has shared the heartbreaking final text message he received from Nikki Grahame before she checked into hospital for treatment for her eating disorder.

Big Brother legend Nikki tragically died at the age of 38 on 9 April, just one day after being discharged from hospital.

Her ex-boyfriend Pete, who emotionally broke down during a TV interview days after her death, has now revealed Nikki was in high spirits after friends raised £65,000 for her to enter the treatment facility.

The pair began dating in 2006 during their time together in the Big Brother house, remaining close friends as their romance fizzled out after leaving the Borehamwood mansion.

Pete, 39, has now shared the final message he received from the reality TV icon, which read: "Hey Petie, all good my end.

"Starting a clinic on Monday, which is good. And the sun is shining today!"

Pete added how he was hoping to arrange a message from Kate Bush for Nikki, after they sang and danced to her 1980 hit single Babooshka during their final meeting in March.

He continued to tell heat magazine: "I was looking to contact Kate Bush to see if she could send Nikki a message as I honestly thought that giving her a boost from her hero would help her start to feel more positive and recover.

"But then we got the news that she was gone. And it was too late."

It was revealed on Tuesday that Nikki's death has sparked a full internal investigation as Dorset County Hospital after she spent her final three weeks there.
