Athletes Perri Shakes-Drayton and Mike Edwards have tied the knot in a lavish Buckinghamshire ceremony.

Olympic sprinter Perri, 30, and high jumper Mike, 28, invited OK! magazine to exclusively cover the sensational big day – as they tied the knot surrounded by friends and family.

Dancing on Ice star Perri revealed she was actually late for the ceremony itself – because she was reading an emotional letter from Mike.

“I’d written a timeline of our relationship from when we met to where we are now,” Mike said.

“It had sentimental stories that I knew would mean a lot. I felt bad that it had made her cry!”

Mike popped the question to Perri at The Royal Opera House in 2018 – where they had their first date – and opened up about his romantic proposal in 2018.

“I couldn’t concentrate. I crashed the car into a parking barrier that day," he admitted.

“It was only a little bump but it made me think, right, you need to get yourself together.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event and I wanted it to be special.”

Discussing how it feels to be man and wife, Perri added: “It’s a lovely feeling.

“We keep on looking at each other’s wedding rings – Mike doesn’t usually wear jewellery!

“We took ourselves off social media the day after the wedding, as we just wanted to enjoy the moment.”
