Pamela Laird, 30, who runs a cosmetic brand, rose to fame when she appeared on Lord Sugar’s The Apprentice last year. The candidate has opened up about a particularly difficult part of the BBC programme, in which she questioned: “How do I get through this?”

The Dubliner made it to the final three, before just missing out on the final to Scarlett Allen-Horton and Carina Lepore.

But before her exit, Pamela had to get through the dreaded interviews which sees candidates’ business ideas heavily scrutinised.

The Irish beauty guru discussed her proposal on the show with businesswoman Linda Plant and a number of others.

But Pamela admitted the nail-biting interview was a “traumatic” experience for her.

“Honestly, that was one of the most traumatic days of my life,” Pamela mused.

“Myself and Carina, I remember us talking to each other, ‘Like how do we get through this?'”

The beauty guru continued: “And I think that you can prepare as much as you want, but the interviewers do their homework and they go so deep.

“They go so deep into your business and into your idea, and you as a person.”

Despite the interview being difficult, Pamela admitted it was a good marketing opportunity.

The entrepreneur explained: “I don’t think anyone could go in there unscathed. They are very stressful.

“I think they’re harder because when you’re given a task you can take it on the chin but this is your business, your pain and your ideas.”

Pamela finished: “So I think that makes it extra hard. But it’s a really good opportunity to have amazing people analyse your business.

“I mean, you couldn’t pay for that stuff. It’s a huge opportunity to sell.”

Since Pamela’s stint on The Apprentice she has continued to expand her Moxi Loves beauty empire with her skincare range being stocked in Boots UK in-store and online.

Discussing the beauty brand, the entrepreneur said: “Beauty is such a huge space and there is so much that you can do.

“As my passion’s evolve and the industry changes and demand changes – my core products are constantly being added to. We will definitely continue to expand into other areas.”

“I think growing up in the beauty industry alongside my mum, I was constantly looking for corners I could cut in my skincare routine,” Pamela explained.

“So I looked for ways I could make it easier, quicker and more convenient.”

She finished: “I set my sights on what I was going to do – that wouldn’t have a negative effect on my skin – and would get my mum’s stamp of approval.”
