TOWIE star Fran Parman has revealed the devastating news that her grandfather Frankie has died aged 91 as she spent time in Dubai.

Fran told on Instagram on Wednesday she has been left "absolutely broken" by the death of Frankie, and explained she didn't get a chance to say goodbye as she was in Dubai on a rare break.

The reality TV star announced the devastating news alongside a throwback picture of her and Frankie smiling together.

It comes after the star moved in with her grandfather to care for him during lockdown after he recently lost his wife of 60 years.

The star wrote: "An old school pic but we just look so happy together. I am absolutely broken.

"I can’t understand the one week I choose to go away and give myself a break is the time god chooses to take you from me. Anyone who knew grandad knows what a kind and loving soul he was.

"I’m happy he is at peace now but absolutely gutted I never got to say goodbye. This man was my world so I’m just gonna give myself a break from social media atm my hearts a bit heavy but it will all be ok as I have the same strength as my grandad.

Fran's fans rushed to the comment section to send her messages of support.

One said: "Such sad news Fran – he was such a lovely man xx"

Another wrote: "Arw so sorry Fran sending lots of love to you xxx"

The star recently revealed that she has lost two stone since returning to TOWIE for the 10th anniversary of the show earlier this year.

She also hit out at trolls who criticised her weight gain.

Fran went on to explain how the intense trolling she received over her appearance tainted her return to the popular reality show.

"I thought, ‘Yeah I’m going to be back with everyone. I can’t wait to see everyone’. And then all of a sudden that picture come up and I thought, ‘Oh god I’ve put on a little bit of weight’," she said.

"I didn’t realise how much I’d put on because I was wearing so many baggy clothes. I looked at it, thought nothing of it."
