SUMMER is finally here after what seemed like a very long winter – and eager Brits are swapping their winter woolies for some more appropriate heat-approved essentials.

Don't think you have to spend a fortune to update your summer kit though, as these thrifty bargain hunters proved that good things can come cheap.

Eagle-eyed shoppers have taken to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to show off their incredible finds, and people are desperate to be part of the action and shop up a storm themselves.

Inflatable accessories

The scorching weather this week has meant people are desperate for some cooling relief, and with summer holidays off the cards for many, a backyard water park is a must.

By that, of course, we mean trusty inflatable accessories – from pools to sprinklers – which shoppers are scoring for as little as just a few pounds.

They come in various shapes and sizes to suit any budget too – and the choices are certainly plentiful.

One shopper raved about Aldi's huge £4.99 unicorn pool ring, which can easily be used as a paddling pool thanks to its generous size.

For something much bigger, and perfect for the entire family, Amazon also have a unicorn-style pool available for £25.

One happy shopper raved: "My 2 youngsters daughters were super impressed with there new pool, and for 20 quid think it's a bargain with the water sprinkler feature too, chuffed to pieces."

Meanwhile, one shopper picked up a super cute turtle pool from Argos for £25, and it's big enough for the entire family as well.

And but you can't beat Morrisons huge family pool which will set you back just £20.

Happy with her purchase, one mum wrote: "Saw in this in Morrison’s today. Thought it was a bit of a bargain at £20! Decent sized pool"

Tesco also launched a new range of inflatable garden sprinklers and toys, and prices start form just £10.

Garden must-haves

Inflatable pools aside though, you can also pick up a selection of fun sprinklers which not only help water the garden, but keep the kids (and pets) entertained too.

One shopper was pretty chuffed to have picked one up at Home Bargains for just £1.99, which she says is "actually really good."

If you want to treat your fur baby to something nice too, there's a range of accessories available for your pets too.

"Thank you so much whoever shared the £5 cooling mat from b&m!, Buddy is thoroughly enjoying having it on his first holiday," raved one thrilled shopper.

Designed to look like giant fruit slices, you can buy four different styles including lemon, orange, watermelon or kiwi.

The mats automatically cool when your pet sits on it, which will help keep them cool and comfortable in hot weather.

B&M is also selling a £4.99 sunflower hose attachment for dogs but people reckon it would ‘keep kids entertained for hours’.

Meanwhile, Wilko is selling a six piece patio set for just £65 – perfect for the warmer weather outdoors.

So if you're looking to replace your old furniture with new, then you know where to shop.

Clothes and shoes

It's certainly not summer without a new wardrobe and Primark shoppers are raving about the chain's bargain 90p flip flops.

"Just got these for 90p in [primark]," one shared, flashing a super cute pair of blush pink shoes.

Commenting on the post, one person raved: "They are brilliant. I bought some and just as good as more expensive ones."

And hundreds more agreed.

In fact, Primark is a good go-to for all your summer essentials, with a range of vibrant sandals, swimwear and summer frocks for under £10.

Meanwhile, one happy parent bagged a couple of colourful kids' caps from B&M for the bargain price of 10p

The fun Baby Shark hats were £4 at full price and they're a must for sun protection when playing outside.

Speaking of kids, chuffed parents are stocking up on pretty girls' dresses which have been slashed to just £2.99 at H&M, and there's a huge variety too.

"Can’t get enough of these dresses from H&M! – more to add to the collection. Think we have them all now," one mum raved, posting a screengrab of the selection online.

Another mum shared her top picks with the group saying: "Girls Summer dresses HnM All £2.99 each. Plenty of other designs too"

She also revealed that there was a range of sizes in store when she checked, including2-4, 4-6, 6-8 and 8-10.

Another raved: "H&M have cheap dresses for girls bargin got 10 dresses for £31 then £3.99 for delivery total £34.99 not bad at all."

But it seems other shoppers had an extra tip to get them even cheaper.
