The Great British Bake Off is returning to our screens this autumn for its 12th series. Over the past 11 series, the winners and contestants have gained thousands of Instagram followers and released many baking books following their win. But who is the richest GBBO winner of all time? PayDayLoansNet has looked at those who went home with the coveted cake stand and used metrics such as Instagram following, earnings per post and number of books to determine the most and least successful winners.

Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding are back in the famous white tent.

Joining them is 12 new contestants, all hoping they have what it takes to follow in the previous 11 winners’ footsteps.

Looking back at the stars of the show, who has become the most successful?

Nadiya Hussain MBE stormed to victory in the sixth series of GBBO and she has been crowned the most successful with an overall score of 100.

Since being named the winner, she has released 18 cookery and children’s books and has had several television shows.

Alongside this, she had a homeware collection in 2018, and was commissioned by Buckingham Palace to bake Queen Elizabeth II’s cake as part of her 90th birthday celebrations.

With over 800,000 Instagram followers, Nadiya earns a staggering £1,763.73 per Instagram post.

The first ever winner of GBBO was Edd Kimber in 2010.

Since the show Edd has released seven books and can make up to £1,391.82 on Instagram per post due to his 387k following, he is the second most successful winner.

Rahul Mandal from series nine is in third place while Candice Brown from the seventh series is in fourth place.

Last year’s – and the youngest ever winner – Peter Sawkins has already released a book titled ‘Peter Bakes’ since winning the show.

He has gained 222k followers and can also make £806 per post on Instagram.

Despite being towards the bottom of the ‘most successful winner’ leaderboard, John Whaite has earned himself a place in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

He has also released five cookery books and appears regularly on Channel 4 as resident chef for Steph’s Packed Lunch.

But who will win this year’s show and could they become more successful than Nadiya?

Kicking off the brand new series is cake week.

As ever, the contestants will be tasked with three challenges – the signature, technical and showstopper.

Together, they will be battling it out for the title of Star Baker and a coveted Hollywood handshake.

Who will start the series impressing the judges?
