An evil stalker split his ex-girlfriend's lip in half during a campaign of abuse and online harassment through Facebook.

The traumatised mum-of-two, who asked to remain anonymous, has bravely spoken out in a bid to warn other women about her former partner Nathan McMahon's crimes.

After she ended their relationship he harassed the Manchester woman through fake Facebook accounts, posted indecent photos of her on WhatsApp and threatened to find her and kill her.

McMahon, 31, was arrested after tossing a brick through her mum's window but was later released and continued to stalk her, the Manchester Evening News reports.

He eventually found her and launched a brutal attack after telling the 27-year-old woman: "If I'm going to prison, it'll be for something proper."

McMahon punched the woman and her female cousin several times, splitting her lip in two and leaving her needing 15 stitches.

She is scarred for life and is receiving counselling for PTSD, and has had to change her name and move house. She might need plastic surgery on her lip.

McMahon admitted grievous bodily harm and was jailed for 32 months at Minshull Street Crown Court on Tuesday.

He was given an indefinite restraining order and also sentenced for an offence of assault by beating on the victim's cousin.

The victim said she began dating McMahon after meeting him through a mutual friend in December 2018, and everything was fine until he smashed up her house while drunk in June 2019.

She ended the relationship but McMahon began stalking her.

The woman said: "He would harass me via fake Facebook accounts and even though I changed my phone number, he managed to get hold of me.

"Sometimes he would threaten me and tell me that he would come and find me. Other times he was remorseful for what he had done."

Days after ending the relationship, McMahon called the woman and threatened to stab her family.

She said: "I called the police immediately and as soon as I got off the phone my mum called me to say he had put a brick through her window."

The woman said police arrested McMahon and he was released to a mental health unit under voluntary section, but he discharged himself shortly afterwards.

He threatened to find and kill her as he continued to call and text her.

She added: "He kept contacting me and posted indecent pictures of me on WhatsApp.

"I contacted police several times but they couldn't locate him and there wasn't enough reason to arrest him.

"On July 26, I was out with my cousin having a drink and I got a call from him, telling me he knew where I was.

"We got up and went back to my cousin's house but I told her I needed to go to the shops near her house.

"As we arrived at the shops I saw Nathan coming towards us. I don't know how he managed to find me."

"He charged at us and became very aggressive, shouting and screaming," she added.

"I got on the phone and called the police straight away.

"He asked me who I was on the phone to and when I said it was police he laughed and said; 'if I'm going to prison, it'll be for something proper'."

McMahon punched the women several times until a group of young men came to their aid, and he was later arrested.

His ex-girlfriend said: "My lip was completely split in half. I had to see a special face surgeon who had to stitch my lip back together.

"I had to have 15 stitches and I have a nasty scar on my face because of it."

The mum said she had to be rehoused for her family's safety.

She added: "It's been very stressful.

"It has caused a lot of hurt and upset for my son especially, as he has had to move school and move away from his friends and family.

"At the same time I am relieved because I know he won't be able to find me when he gets out."

The woman decided to speak out to warn other women.

She said: "For me he was a very good actor and I just want to stop him doing this to someone else.

"Even if his name just rings a bell and makes a woman think about looking him up on Clare's Law, I'll feel I've done the right thing.

"I have been physically and mentally scarred for life and I just want to protect other women."
