The January full moon, aka the Wolf Moon, is going to be rising tonight, 28 January.

If you believe in manifestation (the idea that you can effectively will what you desire into your life), the first full moon of a New Year is a great time to focus on it.

It presents an opportunity to make some positive affirmations and set your intentions for the coming year.

Rituals for tonight’s full moon

Celebrity psychic Chris Riley says: ‘Harnessing the special powers of the full moon can help bring about positivity and manifestation that you are desiring in your life at this current moment and for the year ahead.’

He adds: ‘Release your intentions and desires to the moon and the universe and in return, the universe will deliver to you the best package – one that is right for you’

Chris says these manifesting rituals can be as simple or as complicated as you want.

A great ritual for anyone new to this sort of thing is simply taking a salt bath with an essential oil or two.

‘You can have a salt bath or ritual bath,’ he says, ‘And this can be as simple as adding some of your favourite essential oils.

‘You can also add some rose petals which can set the intention for you to bring in the power of the full moon.’

Another relatively simple ritual you could opt for is writing your ‘intentions and desires’ on a piece of paper and burning said paper while you’re bathed in light from the full moon.

For the more experienced, Chris suggests setting up an altar ‘with some candles and flowers, and you can write a list of all of your intentions for the year.

He says: ‘This can be either financial abundance, health, love or even developments in your career.

‘Remember to focus clearly on what it is that you are wishing to achieve and bring into your life and simply let it go.’

One thing everyone should do regardless of what ritual they choose is express your gratitude to the moon.

Chris says: ‘Make sure you thank the moon in advance for the goodness that it shall bring into your life.’
