Those jungle drums are rumbling which can only mean one thing – I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is coming back!
Ant and Dec will return to chilly Gwrych Castle in Wales on November 21 to watch a new team of plucky celebrities take on hair-raising – and gut-wrenching – challenges to win our votes.
Last year, author and mummy vlogger Giovanna Fletcher beat Vernon Kay and Jordan North to be crowned Queen of the ‘jungle’.
Ahead of the show’s exciting return, the mum-of-three took to Instagram to share her happy memories and heartache at leaving her little boys behind.
The post, featuring sons Buzz, Buddy and Max, read: “A year ago I was in isolation with these three, wondering what on earth the month ahead would have in store.
“I can remember the apprehension in the build up, the nerves and worry, and the heartache at having to say goodbye to my loves.
“That said, I can also recall the excitement that comes from jumping out of your comfort zone and into something new.
“I can’t wait to watch this year’s @imacelebrity. I’ll be cheering the new campmates on and hope they manage to embrace every aspect of it! Xx”
Giovanna shared memories of the show with fellow campmate Vernon Kay on Victoria Derbyshire’s recent BBC newscast.
While Vernon wished for a chillier castle for the future campmates – “Make it colder – I want it to be more horrible for them!” – Giovanna recalled her nerves about the unknown.
She told Victoria: “We had no idea what we were walking into. So in that respect they know what it’s going to look like and know the feel of it.”
The star predicts the show will be bigger and better, providing Covid steers clear!
She added: “The restrictions have lessened since last year so I think maybe they can go a little bit bigger.
“We always said about maybe leaving the castle and taking people to various spots that are full of adventure. So maybe they are doing trials that are slightly different to ours.
“But you know, we’ve set them up!”
Fans of the show – which has run for an incredible 20 series so far – are excitedly predicting which brave celebrities will take on the three-week challenge.
Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall is rumoured to be on the show, along with EastEnders’ Adam Woodyatt, Love Island runner-up Maura Higgins and Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain.
With less than a month to go before the castle gates open, all will be revealed very soon!
