Fast food giant McDonald’s will be launching a Big Mac dipping sauce for fans to dunk their nuggets and fries into.

The Special Sauce is normally found in burgers but will be sold in dipping pots from February 12.

And if this sounds like something you’d love, the bad news is that it’s only going to be around for a limited period of time.

Fans are already planning to stock up on the 50ml pots, which will sell for 50p, which McDonald’s say will have seven-day shelf life.

Martin Sadler, 46, from Bedfordshire, said: “I love the sauce. Normally I ask for extra in my burger, so I can then open it up and dip my chicken nuggets in it.

"Special pots are great news. If there’s no limit, I will get £20 worth.”

Speaking about the Special Sauce, McDonald’s said: “A limited run of the pots will go on sale and is expected to quickly sell out with restaurant staff prepped for bulk orders and big queues.

"The 50ml pots will retail for 50p each, will be available 24 hours a day, have a seven-day shelf life and when they’re gone they’re gone.”

According to Sun Online , the sauce used the same recipe since 1972 – though it changed slightly between 1991 and 2004.

It is a mix of mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish and yellow mustard with vinegar garlic powder, onion powder and paprika.

The current sauces in McDonald’s are ketchup, BBQ, sweet curry and sweet and sour which are all free and come in 20ml pots.

Meanwhile, customers in Canada, Australia and New Zealand can actually purchase the sauces in bottles.
