Olly Alexander will be appearing tomorrow night as the guest announcer on ITV’s Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Previous guests on the show include Radio One host Greg James, actor Rob Brydon, and American singer Camilla Cabello. Olly is as famous as the other celebrities, but how rich is he?

Olly has an estimated net worth of $1.5million, according to CelebNetWorths.com.

That’s currently equivalent to around £1million.

It’s a whopping fortune that the star has earned through both his musical and acting career.

He has also appeared on a number of TV shows, including Gogglebox in 2019.

Olly was born in Harrogate, in North Yorkshire, but his family later moved to south Wales.

His parents separated when he was 13, and Olly was brought up by his mother.

The singer attended school in Monmouth, near the English border, and then studied Performing Arts at the Hereford College of Arts.

According to the New York Times, Olly’s talent for writing music began at a young age, as he wrote his first song on his father’s keyboard when he was 10.

At the age of 16, Olly was given his first agent, who he met while auditioning for a part in the Bristol-based TV series Skins.

Olly played the role of Jakob in the final series of Skins, which was broadcasted in July 2013.

But his acting career began in 2008, with a part in CBBC’s drama Summerhill.

His first film was Bright Star in 2009, which was nominated for an Academy Award.

Since then, he has acted in numerous other films, including Tormented, God Help the Girl, Funny Bunny, and The Riot Club.

The singer and actor has also appeared in West End stage productions, such as Peter and Alice, in which he played the lead role and acted alongside Ben Whishaw and Judi Dench.

His most recent acting role was in Russell T. Davies’ hit drama, It’s A Sin, which follows the lives of gay young people in 1980s Britain.

Olly is gay himself and has advocated for LGBTQ+ rights over the years, promoting safer sex, HIV-screening, and anti-bullying initiatives.

In 2017, the young musician presented a BBC Three documentary called Olly Alexander: Growing Up Gay, which explored the mental health issues faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Olly’s music career began in 2010, when the pop trio Years & Years was formed.

The band’s debut single ‘I Wish I Knew’ was released in July 2012.

Their most successful single, ‘King’, reached number one in the UK Single Chart in March 2015.

More recently, the band released a cover of the Pet Shop Boys’ hit ‘It’s a Sin’, which coincided with Olly’s role in the TV show of the same name.

The star lives alone in an apartment in London and has shared videos of himself singing or working out in his bedroom on his Instagram account.
