The 39-year-old now releases music on her own label following her contract with Simon Cowell ending after her single The Honey G show made it to just number 149 in the charts.

Despite this, the rapper has managed to earn a living from personal appearances and even hosted ticketed YouTube concerts during the lockdown.

The rapper took an extra job in 2018 as an estate agent in North London. However, this was short-lived after her new boss asked her to give up music.

"My boss had told me that he was expecting me to give up my music career which I am obviously not prepared to do," she told The Sun.

"It's a shame, and I feel they wasted all of my time. They should have done their research before employing me, so they knew what they were getting into.

"Anyone who would consider employing someone who has a profile like me should really think about what they're doing and what their intentions are before they sign them up to the company. There are benefits to working with a celebrity."

However, Honey G’s biggest change is her look after the star shrank down three dress sizes after appearing on the show.

She says using a combination of cardio and yoga completely changed her body from a size 16 to a svelte size 10.

"I loved the buzz exercise gave me, so I signed up to do a triathlon. It felt like an absolute thrill to be pushing my body so hard. I do hefty cardio like running, spinning and cycling, and it’s completely changed my body shape," Honey recently told Closer magazine.

Speaking about her diet Honey G continued: “I now stay clear of white bread and rice, and instead I’ll have healthy carbs like multi-grain or rye bread. I don’t drink alcohol at home, or buy biscuits or chocolates.”

Although she is currently single, the star hopes that her new look and confidence will help her find a partner and start a family.

She added: "I’d love to find the woman of my dreams. I would love to have children one day too. I’m hoping my new look will help me attract a partner."

Speaking last year, she said that she is still in touch with her mentor Sharon Osbourne and praised the show for her support during and after filming.

"The welfare producer at The X Factor was there to look after all the contestants and I really couldn’t fault the team behind the scenes,” she said.

“I did receive some negative comments during my time on the show but it never got me down as the public kept me in for eight weeks consecutively.

"I'm still in touch with Sharon Osbourne and I'm friendly with her daughter Kelly."
