IT'S not a great Saturday of action but there are plenty of cards and plenty of punting opportunities.

I reckon I've picked out a handful of good things for Saturday's racing.

Beverley

2.00 Execlusive – Archie Watson has had a wonderful time with his two-year-olds so far this season and can continue the run here.

His filly produced a taking debut when well-backed, storming clear at Beverley for a near three-length success.

This is a different ballgame but she's won over this C&D and clearly has plenty of speed.

Haydock

1.45 Prejudice – The ground is set to be horrendous tomorrow but that hopefully won't affect David Simcock's contender, who had decent form on good to soft last year.

He's only had one start for his current connections and is bound to come on for his promising reappearance, which was his first run over this trip.

Simcock has found a good race for him and I expect to see him blossom over this distance.

Newmarket

5.05 Great Bear – Looks a nice improver for Roger Charlton, having bolted up last time out in novice company.

That race didn't look bad and an opening mark of 81 could well be a touch lenient.

He carries top weight but is the most exciting of these and could prove much better than this grade in time.

Chepstow

6.30 Cwynar – Produced a far better effort on her second start for Rebecca Curtis last time, finishing second here in what looked a deep race for the grade.

That came after a fairly hefty break and, if stripping fitter now, she's the one to beat.

Lingfield

7.45 Fairy Stories – Absolutely bolted in at Nottingham last time and looks good value for a 6lb penalty.

Takes a hike in grade but should be too good once again if producing a similar performance.

Chelmsford

4.50 Be Like Me – Getting nearer to the target and was just nosed out over 6f at this track last time. The step up in trip could pave the way for further improvement and she should find this a little easier.
