A PLACE in the Sun host Jasmine Harman was on hand when a home hunter started crying during a viewing on the Channel 4 show.

Jasmine comforted Claire, who was overcome with emotion while searching for the perfect pad in the north of Fuerteventura, around the lively town of Corralejo.

Claire and her partner Gary had a budget of £200,000 to spend on a holiday home during the episode.

Their list of requirements included lots of outdoor space for them and their twin daughters, plus at least two bedrooms.

The first property on Jasmine's list was a two-bed house with a communal pool priced at £209,402.

But the couple were not impressed with the open plan living area and Claire commented: "It’s nice but maybe a bit small."

Second on the list was a three-bed townhouse with a communal pool and tennis court, gardens at the front and back, plus a roof terrace with sea views.

All of this was on offer for £200,885, impressing both Gary and Claire.

Gary said: "Good outside space. That’s what we asked for."

As Claire added: "Can’t think of anything negative so far."

When the pair got to the roof terrace and saw the stunning views, they were clearly blown away.

Gary gushed: "Oh look at that."

"Wow, you’ve got your sea view," added Claire.

Gary continued: "It’s not just that, it’s the sea view, the island view.

"That is an awesome spectacular view."

It was at this point that Claire became tearful and admitted: "It’s more than I could have hoped for."

As Jasmine joined the couple on the roof terrace, Claire told her: "I think you can tell from my tears that it’s lovely."

Jasmine asked: "Oh, is it making you feel a bit emotional?"

To which Claire replied: "Very."

At which point the property expert leaned in for a hug to comfort Claire, saying: "Oh darling."

Claire explained her tears and said: "I could just see us up here. This is like the icing on the top of the cake.

“The house is fabulous, but this is just… well, I just couldn’t imagine such a big space."

Before leaving both Gary and Claire agreed the property was a contender.

But a U-turn at the end of the saw the couple decide not to put in an offer.

They explained that Claire's health struggles meant they realised they would need to return to look for a bungalow with no stairs.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
