Brassic season four could be a possibility following the release of the highly-anticipated season three on Sky One. The comedy-drama continues to follow a group of friends in the fictional town of Hawley. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about whether a season four is on the way.
Will there be a season 4 of Brassic?
The third season has just made its debut on Sky but fans can remain positive as it seems season four is already in the pipeline.
Back in August 2021, The Damien Molony Forum reported filming had already begun in Manchester.
Aaron Heffernan, who plays Ash Dennings in the series, shared a behind the scenes photo on Instagram.
He tagged Damien Molony, who plays Dylan, adding: “The one and only Molony”.
Filming for season four is also believed to be taking place in North Wales and Lancashire.
When will Brassic season 4 air?
If filming is currently underway, fans may not have to wait too long for the next instalment.
Sadly, there is no pattern when it comes to release dates, for each season, with the first airing in August and the second in May.
With the third series starting in October, season four could air any time from late 2022.
Actor Molony shared a video back in September 2021 of himself with his costars on the season four set.
He told BT.com filming was due to finish in January 2022, saying: “We’re here until the end of January, so we’ve got eight months to film. My favourite episode takes place at night in the woods. That’s all I can say!”
Who will be in the cast of Brassic season 4?
Hopefully, all of the main cast will be back to reprise their roles in the fourth outing.
Vinnie O’Neill (Joe Gilgun), Erin Croft (Michelle Keegan), Cardi Titt (Tom Hanson), Tommo (Ryan Sampson) and JJ (Parth Thakerar) should all make a comeback.
Our Girl actress Keegan was seen on the season 4 set wearing a lollipop lady uniform.
She was sporting a hi-vis coat whilst holding her fluorescent stop sign in the middle of a road.
The fourth season may even include some new additions further down the line.
What will happen in Brassic season 4?
At this moment in time, it is difficult to say what will happen in the fourth season, as series three has only just begun.
There has already been talk of a fifth season, with Molony telling BT.com: “I’m sure Joe [Gilgun] has plenty of ideas.
“And I think he definitely owes us an episode in continental Europe so and we can all have a couple of weeks in the sun.
“That would be amazing if we could do an episode by the beach on sun loungers!”
Gilgun has opened up about the future of the series beyond season four and he said it is dependant on Sky.
He told Radio Times: “The problem we’ve got with shows is the actors don’t all want to stay – sometimes they want to branch out and that’s just part of our industry.
“So we’ve got to do our best to keep all these engine parts because they’re amazing, they make our car win races.”
Gilgun stars as Vincent O’Neill, a man diagnosed with bipolar disorder who had a difficult childhood.
Brassic season 3 is streaming on Sky One now.
