CELEBRITY SAS star Alexandra Burke has hit back against claims that she received special treatment from Ant Middleton on the show.

The singer, who took part in the most recent series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, said it was evident there was no preferential care as she broke her RIBS during one of the intense challenges.

Viewers watch as show host Ant, 40, and his team ranked the Alexandra, 33, as one of their strongest recruits in Sunday night's episode.

But she was met with speculation from fans of the show that she was being given "special treatment" from the SAS team and producers.

The former X Factor winner took to The One Show on Tuesday night to try and dispel the speculation, revealing she broke her ribs on the show.

"I can absolutely just reassure people that there is no favouritism on this show at all, whatsoever," she reassured viewers.

"I wish I had some favouritism because I broke my ribs for crying out loud. You have your microphones on at every single given moment.

"They hear and see everything you're doing, and there is no favouritism so I just want to put that to bed and just say that, that did not happen at all."

She added that she was "not trained for" the gruelling tasks and "wasn't ready" to take on the SAS style training up in Scotland.

Alexandra continued of her experience on the show: "It was amazing – even talking about it and watching it, I get sweaty palms I won't lie.

"Reliving all those moments again, it doesn't bring back the most tremendous memories, it does make me really nervous talking about it."

The West End star found herself in the middle of a storm of complaints earlier this week as her co-stars slammed her for being treated "differently".

Ant, 40, surprised viewers last week by referring to Alexandra by her surname rather than her number, and went on to call her his strongest recruit.

A source told The Sun: "Ant appeared to take a shine to Alexandra on SAS and it didn’t go unnoticed by the show’s stars and the crew."

They added that other stars were upset about the differing treatment: "From the word go the others thought Ant treated Alexandra differently.

"During filming he would be seen taking her to one side for a chat and, at points, they’d even take their microphones off so no one could hear what they were saying."

The insider added that Alexandra was "oblivious" to the extra attention but it was "annoying" for the remaining cast who were left complaining.

TV host Ant was fired from Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins earlier this year after filming for the show concluded.

He was dropped from Channel 4 over his "personal conduct" after it was reported he made "inappropriate" and "lewd comments" to female staff.

A representative for Middleton said at the time that the allegations were wrong and insisted Ant was “always disciplined and utterly professional”.

A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said: "The course is as tough and exacting for all recruits, both celebrity and civilian.

"The role of the DS is to push every recruit to their limits and then to build them back up and motivate them to go as far as they can on the course."
