The death of Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) will be one the residents in Coronation Street will remember for an awfully long time – especially Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine).

Up until tonight’s episode, Tim was supporting Yasmeen as she re-adjusted to life free from prison and Geoff, but it was in scenes aired tonight that Tim started to open up about how the death of his dad was making him feel.

As the Metcalfes and Nazirs prepared themselves for Geoff’s funeral, most of them weren’t looking forward to attending. Alya (Sair Khan) was there to support her gran, but when Yasmeen experienced another hallucination of Geoff, she told Alya she would be making her own way to the funeral.

Elsewhere, after telling Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Elaine (Paula Wilcox) he hoped his dad was rotting in hell, Tim also told his family he would make his own way there, only for him and Yasmeen to be seen in their gardens afterwards, talking about how they couldn’t face saying goodbye to Geoff.

It was clear tonight that this is the start of a very long journey for Yasmeen. She opened up to Tim about how she had started seeing Geoff, and was worried he would be with her for the rest of her life. This prompted Tim to talk about how he was feeling too, explaining how he wouldn’t have been able to forgive himself if he cried at his dad’s funeral following everything he put the pair through.

The two of them continued to talk, but it was Yasmeen who helped Tim realise that despite what Geoff had done, they both still loved him.

As they continue to hide how they’re feeling from their families, just how dark could things be about to get for the two of them?
