David Ginola has revealed the hardest part about being in Gwrych Castle on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! was “not being able to have sex with his girlfriend”.
The former footballer, 54, narrowly missed out on the top spot during Sunday night’s final but confessed he couldn’t wait to get back to his usual routine with his loving family back at home.
And it appears as though David and his model girlfriend Maeva Denat, 32, will be making the most of their long-awaited reunion together after three weeks apart.
The former Spurs and Newcastle United player has been in a relationship with his belle for six years and the pair share their beautiful daughter Ever.
A few days after he shocking exit from the show, the sportsman confessed to The Sun that one of the main things he missed out on while he was on the show was having sex with his partner.
He told the publication: “What I missed most was making love – especially when you do it every day.”
During his time in the castle, the doting dad initially missed out on his letter from home after the newly crowned King of the Castle forgot the password in the memory-based challenge.
But in a surprise turn of events, the Frenchman was gifted his letter while the camp partied it up in the Castle pub.
And it’s fair to say the star was overcome with emotion when he received the highly-anticipated letter from his girlfriend after he was denied the opportunity twice throughout the show.
In the note, which was hidden in the Christmas tree, Maeve spoke about how much their daughter Ever was missing her famous father while the pair supported him from home.
She wrote: “My love, I miss you more with every second that passes.
“The time is so long, we can’t wait for you to come back to us. There is a big void at home without you. Everything is fine here. Ever asks after you every day, she misses you so much.
“She loves her daddy very, very much. Ever and I watch you on TV as often as possible. I love to see you support your campmates and take care of Danny.
“It is so you. Kind, reliable, strong, solid, empathetic. be brave my man, even though I have no doubt of it.
“I love you more and more. You are my superhuman. Your Ever and your Maeva.”
After he listened to her heartfelt tribute, David gushed: “I’m a lucky guy.”
