If you’re a Days of Our Lives fan and a Backstreet Boys fan, you’re in luck this week. AJ McLean, best known for his time in the super-popular boy band of the 1990s, is making a special guest appearance in Salem this week. McLean’s appearance was first teased all the way back in July. Now, finally, fans can see him on their favorite soap.

AJ McLean will be on ‘Days of Our Lives’ this week

After months of teasing and anticipation, AJ McLean will be on Days of Our Lives this week. According to SoapHub, fans will see him portraying a driver. He’ll reportedly be driving Ciara somewhere, though where he’ll be driving her, and under what circumstances, isn’t quite clear yet.

McLean’s appearance on Days is a “one and done” type of situation. He won’t be a part of any major storyline. However, he definitely seemed to have a good time making his appearance on the popular NBC soap.

He previously teased his appearance all the way back in July 2021

As we previously reported all the way back in July 2021, AJ McLean was taping for a special guest appearance on Days of Our Lives. He teased his appearance in a TikTok video. He also said that Days was his grandmother’s favorite show, and that his appearance on the show was a quasi-tribute to her.

“There is a certain daytime TV show that my grandmother and I used to watch when I was growing up,” he said. “And I’ll drop a couple of hints: Bo, Hope, Patch… Ring a bell? Well, yours truly is making a guest appearance as a driver – that’s my name on the show – on this show right here.”

McLean also said that fans would be delighted about the drama they’d be seeing during his time on the show. And while, clearly, he’s not in the throes of it all, he definitely gets to see a lot of behind-the-scenes drama. We can’t wait to check it out!

Other ‘Days’ comings & goings

While many Days of Our Lives fans loved seeing some of Salem’s unearthed dead over this past week, it looks like they, too, are a “one and done” type of situation. That said, fans certainly had a ball seeing them on the small-screen again.

Mike Manning, who played Charlie Dale, has been returned to the grave — and won’t be back on the show for the foreseeable future. (But you never know when he, uh, might pop back up, given that Marlena’s still possessed and the Devil may still want his due.)

The same is true for Vincent Irizarry and Blake Berris. Irizarry, who played Deimos Kiriakis, and Berris, who played Nick, have also been returned to their graves. It seems as though they were only on the canvas for the Days of Our Lives Halloween special. But no one stays dead in Salem forever, so there’s a good chance they’ll be back soon.
