Emmerdale fans were left baffled on Tuesday's episode after Vinny Dingle made a mask blunder when he went to visit Liv Flaherty in hospital.
Only recently, Liv, who has been wrongly arrested for Ben Tucker’s murder, was brutally attacked after she asked for alcohol from her violent cellmate.
The nasty confrontation occurred just hours after Vinny visited Liv to tell her that until Manpreet Sharma wakes up and reveals the truth about murderer Meena Jutla, she will have to continue her life behind bars.
During Tuesday's episode, Vinny went to visit Liv and before he went into her room, he approached two hospital guards as he declared: "Vinny Dingle! I should be on a visiting list. I spoke to the prison people?"
However, soap watchers were left distracted during the scenes as they noticed that Vinny wasn't wearing a face mask despite the hospital staff wearing coverings.
Viewers also questioned why the hospital guards didn't ask to check Vinny's proof of identity as he was able to go into Liv's room without any checks.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Vinny storms in announcing 'he should be on visiting list as he spoke to prison people'. No name asked for. He just walks into room. No mask as per usual. #emmerdale."
A different account put: "#Emmerdale @emmerdale How on earth is Vinny able to march through a hospital with no mask??"
While another follower commented: "Shouldn't they be wearing masks in the hospital? #Emmerdale."
During the scenes, a despondent Liv said: "I should be made up, shouldn’t I? Just enjoying that I’m in prison where I’m probably going to spend the rest of my life.
"And I’m probably going to die inside, like my dad. I needed a drink, again. And I was going to do whatever it took to get hold of one, again."
As Vinny looked disappointed with Liv’s confession, she reassured him she’s still sober, explaining that Mel “beat the hell out of her” before she had the chance to drink.
Liv then continued: “You know what’s funny, well ironic. She really laid into me. Don’t get me wrong, I pushed her into it deliberately.”
Vinny went on to push Liv on why she provoked Mel. She answered: "Because I couldn’t get a drink and I needed some other way to forget.
“But right now I'm just disappointed that this battering wasn’t enough to stop me waking up. There’s always next time…"
