Emmerdale fans were certainly left squirming on Wednesday evening as Meena Jutla performed Skater Boy in front of the mirror.

The twisted murderer seemed to still be seething over the fact that her former boyfriend David Metcalfe chose Victoria Sugden over her.

But in the latest episode, Meena appeared to have a spring in her step when her new bestie Nicola King reassured her that she is still "special" despite her failed relationship.

Later on in the programme, Meena appeared very chirpy as she sang a long to the popular noughties pop song by rock star Avril Lavigne.

However though the scene was fun, viewers found it fairly "cringe".

Taking to Twitter, fans aired their thoughts. One fan penned: "Omg what the hell was that with meena in the mirror?? When is she leaving? TerriblE."

Another fan said: "Who the hell wrote that scene, hilarious, bordering on embarrassing, come on #emmerdale you can do better than that, & end this story quick, Meena is no Pat Phelan."

A third wrote: "Whoever edited the scene of Meena singing Avril Lavigne should never be allowed to edit. Editing like that does not belong on TV. Ps. She won't win."

A fourth chimed: "The scene we never needed. Meena singing and dancing to Sk8er Boi in the mirror."

"Meena's fashion/ singing segment that was cringe though," a fifth unimpressed viewer added.
