Gogglebox star Georgia McCormick has endured a "traumatic" few weeks after her entire family was left battling coronavirus.

Last week, the reality star took to Instagram to issue a warning to her followers, revealing the McCormicks had been "hit hard" by the virus.

Georgia, who joined the show with her husband and son in 2017, revealed she lost two stone in her fight against the virus, which is known to numb the sense of taste and smell.

Opening up, Georgia wrote: "Our whole family has been hit hard with #covid. I'm not going to sugar coat it. Its been truly traumatic.

"Thank god for friends and family dropping meals, meds and everthing inbetween.

"Please don't think its 'just' the flu. It's not."

The Peterborough-based reality star went on to describe her weight loss, urging fans against believing the "dangerous conspiracies" that have been circulating.

She said: "I've lost 2 stone in 1 month. And it's still causing havoc in our house.

"Don't f*** around with it, don't listen to dangerous conspiracies. Keep safe x."

Her co-stars on Gogglebox took to the comment section to wish the family a speedy recovery, with Izzi Warner writing: "Hope you all feel better soon."

Ex-Gogglebox star Sandi Bogle added: "Sending my love and blessings hope you all get better soon."

Georgia and her husband Scott live together in their Cambridgeshire home, which they share with their two sons, Isaac and Archie.

In recent days, Georgia – who works as a hairdressing tutor – appears to have thankfully made a recovery.

The mum-of-two took to Instagram on Sunday to reassure fans she was feeling much better, sharing a selfie from her desk while undertaking an online course.

Revealing she'd finally summoned enough energy to get dressed after the bout of illness, Georgia said: "I'm dressed (albeit in my son's jumper) for the 2nd time in 5 weeks and back on my online course.

"Heres to better days."
