Health Secretary Matt Hancock has reportedly been spotted drinking in the Parliament bar after the 10pm coronavirus curfew. The minister allegedly returned to have a drink after voting in the House of Commons despite a blanket ban in England that prevents hospitality venues being open and serving alcohol in the late evening. ITV’s Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan expressed his fury at the reports and called for Conservative cabinet minister to resign.

Mr Morgan said: “He also made this joke when he arrived at the bar: ‘the drinks are on me. Public Health England are in charge of the payment methodology so I will not be paying anything’.

“Is that your idea of funny, Health Secretary? You think the incompetence of your testing system, which will cost lives, is something to crack jokes about?

“I know who saw you, you were seen by a senior Tory MP. Is that MP lying? Did you go back into that bar after you voted?

“We need some answers to this because if Matt Hancock is breaking the curfew rules, he’s got to resign.”
