Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty is one of the most popular shows right now—and the reasons why are many! After all, it’s a nostalgic revisit to summer romances and peak adolescence all wrapped up in a beautifully written Jenny Han script. Not only do the show’s characters come alive in a truly pinch-me moment for fans of the original trilogy and newcomers alike, but the coming-of-age storyline makes you feel nostalgic and wistful all at once. Obsessed with the show as much as we are? Wondering when The Summer I Turn Pretty season 2 is coming? Here’s the 411 on everything we know.
Will There Be Another Season?
Yes! Not only is The Summer I Turned Pretty getting another season, but it is already in production, so there is much to celebrate.

The original books are a three-part trilogy, so fingers crossed for a season 3 of the Cousins Beach crew right behind this one. No word just yet on a release date, but if the ball is already rolling filming-wise, there shouldn’t be a huge gap between seasons 1 and 2 (thank goodness!).
What’s the Inspo Behind The Summer I Turned Pretty?
The Amazon TV show culls major (read: pretty much all) inspiration from a trilogy written by Jenny Han, who *also* just so happened to write this not-so-low-key series you may have heard of called To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. But The Summer I Turned Pretty book-turned-show follows 16-year-old Belly during a formative summer in a fictional Massachusetts town called Cousins Beach.
Every year for as long as Belly can remember, she’s vacationed there with her mother Laurel, her brother Steven, her mother’s best friend Susannah, and Susannah’s two sons, Jeremiah and Conrad. And for practically every single one of those summers, she has been in love with Conrad. This time around, though, things are different and he finally starts to reciprocate those feelings. The twist? Jeremiah does too. Enter: a classic love triangle!
Fans of the books will find a lot of familiarity in the series since the main characters in the show stay pretty true to their original versions. However, there are definitely some differences that Jenny said she made in order to make the show more contemporary.

Where Can I Watch The Summer I Turned Pretty?
Amazon Prime Video is pretty much the only place where you’ll be able to stream the first season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and there are two ways you can go about it: Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime Videos. Confused? I got you!
Amazon Prime is a membership program that grants its users unlimited fast shipping. What does this have to do with TSITP, you might ask? Well, if you pay for Amazon Prime, which costs $14.99 a month (or $139 for a year), you have access to some of the Prime Video series…including this one! Your second option is to only subscribe to Prime Video for $8.99 a month. That said, both services have 30-day free trials, so do with that what you will…
