Holly Willoughby delighted The Games' viewers fans with an incredible "acrobatic" opening routine, but she later went one step further by ending the show with a splash.

The 41 year old left fans stunned as she and her co-host Freddie Flintoff dove into the swimming pool behind them fully clothes.

The co-hosts' cheeky bid to cool down came at the end of the show, as This Morning presenter Holly began taking her high heels off.

"Do you know what? It's absolutely boiling in here, and I've been waiting to do this all night," the blonde said as she grabbed Freddie by the hand, and the pair took out their earpieces.

They then turned around and flung themselves into the water as their guests shrieked in surprise.

Viewers were also taken aback by Holly jumping into the pool fully clothed.

One person humoured: "Cries in Dry Clean Only," while another wrote: "Ohh no, your nice jacket is gonna shrink in the wash!"

A third added: "Can't believe you done that… but how could one resist."

A fourth said: "Love this holly girl after my own heart not afraid to get a hair wet, love the outfit aswell you look stunning."

Another commented: "Loved this moment so much! I was screaming from the sideline!"

At the show's start, Holly appeared to perform an impressive acrobatic stunt during a cheerleader routine.

In one moment, Holly was seen being lifted up, as the next scene saw what appeared to be the presenter doing a series of impressive acrobatic moves.

The new series sees 12 super-fit celebs compete in sporting challenges, including in an athletics arena, swimming pool, gymnasium and velodrome.

Those taking part in the show, hosted by Holly and Freddie, include current Corrie star Colson Smith, Harry Potter actor Josh Herdman, author, model and National Autistic Society ambassador Christine McGuinness, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini and Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker.
