Hollyoaks favourite Nikki Sanderson has revealed that bad boy Liam Donovan is set to make Maxine Minniver's life a living hell.

Vulnerable Maxine is currently being targeted by Liam, who wrongly blames her for the death of her younger brother Jesse Donovan.

Fans of the Channel 4 soap know that Liam has already forced vulnerable Maxine into prostitution as a way to make money to pay her rent and feed her your daughter Minnie.

Maxine turned to the village villain for some money who then persuaded her sleep with his friend Clayton for quick cash.

Actress Nikki has confirmed that things are about to get worse for her character with past history leaving her in a sticky situation.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Nikki said: "It's been a tough time for Maxine.

"She's upset a lot of people and have lost lots of friends and family, and she is slowing trying to rebuild her life."

"Her main priority is Minnie and make sure she is okay but Liam is on the war path and is going to make her life hell."

Maxine suffers with Munchausen's syndrome, a psychological disorder, which sees a person pretend to be ill or deliberately produce symptoms of illness.

Former Coronation Street star Nikki has let slip that things are not going to be easy for the skint single mother in upcoming scenes.

She said: "She's not got many paths to walk down and it's going to be a rough one.

"She is massively struggling and Liam manipulates the situation and uses it against her.

"She is different going to have a difficult few weeks."

"Hollyoaks are always striving to do storylines that are current and I think it is really important to explore different topics."

Nikki went on to open up about the reaction to her character's recent storylines and the messages she's received from soap fans.

She divulged: "The audience have hated Maxine but I think people will see a different side to her and be more sympathetic.

"When I get messages saying everyone hates her I think i'm doing my job right but you get some who are just being nasty for no reason."

Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first look episodes on E4 at 7pm
