EastEnders star Lacey Turner told Loose Women on Tuesday that she returned to the Albert Square set a mere five days after giving birth.
The actress, 32, gave birth to her son Trilby Fox a month before her due date.
She and hubby Matt Kay were delighted to welcome the bundle of joy – who weighed just 6lbs – in February.
Lacey appeared on Loose Women on Tuesday, where she revealed more details about the birth.
“It was a quick birth. I didn’t really get a chance to sweat.”
Because Trilby was taken away to be cared for by hospital staff, Lacey added that she managed to get “a whole night’s sleep” after her labour.
So she felt well enough to make a speedy return to EastEnders shortly after the birth.
“I had three scenes left to shoot, so after five days I rang them and said don’t panic, I’ll do a couple of mornings.
“I didn’t want to forget what Stacey was supposed to be doing!” she said.
“I still can’t believe I have a boy. With the second one you’re so laid back – I hadn’t even packed a hospital bag.”
Lacey wasn’t expecting her waters to break when they did. “I thought it only happened in films!” she laughed.
“I just got back into bed and pretended it wasn’t happening,” she said, adding that when she did eventually go to hospital, she packed her bag with Mini Eggs.
“I was born a month early,” Lacey continued, “so I wasn’t too scared.”
She admitted her premature baby Trilby was “tiny”, with “loads of tubes” which “scared them more than anything”.
Husband Matt wasn’t allowed to stay with Lacey throughout her hospital stay due to Covid-19 regulations, but he did pop in to see her for a couple of hours.
“Trilby got whisked away so he didn’t get much time to see him,” she said.

Lacey said her daughter Dusty is “the best babysitter” she’s ever had.
“It has its hard moments,” she admitted. “I miss my dear old friend sleep.
“But it’s lovely having two and seeing them together. It just fills your heart.”
Lacey said she got her son’s unusual name from a girl she knew once, whose sister was called Trilby Fox.
“I always thought it was such a cool name, and I quite liked it for a boy, so I’ve had it in my head for a really long time!” she told OK! Magazine.
