VH1’s regular run of Love & Hip Hop took a brief hiatus in early 2021 and instead introduced two special limited series. Couples Retreat brought cast members together from the Hollywood, New York, and Atlanta franchises, and welcomed celebrities such as Deelishis and Michael Blackson into the family. And Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition turned into a crossover celebration event.

Now, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 10 is poised to return with new episodes and a few fresh — but familiar — faces in the lineup. Some of them are up-and-coming rappers. Who are the LHHATL newbies?

Yandy Smith-Harris and Mendeecees Harris

Fans already know Yandy and Mendeecees from Love & Hip Hop: New York. An OG of the entire franchise, Smith-Harris has been part of LHH from its inception. According to The Wrap, she and Mendeecees relocated their family to Atlanta. That means viewers will see more interactions between them and friends Kirk and Rasheeda Frost and Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels.

Renni Rucci

Rapper Renni Rucci recently found herself in the blogs for trading shots with Latto and Amy Luciano. She first made a name for herself on Instagram and as a remixer. The South Carolina native eventually landed a deal with Wolf Pack Music, a Quality Control label imprint. Renni Rucci joins the Atlanta cast, and it’s her first time on the reality series.

Omeretta

Model and rapper Omeretta is from Atlanta, and some fans may already know her music. She has a heavy social media presence — especially on Instagram and YouTube — where she promotes her projects. For those who are unfamiliar with her, Omeretta has a string of music videos and interviews available on YouTube. She’s definitely representing for Atlanta Zone 3.

Yung Baby Tate

Yung Baby Tate is another burgeoning artist, and her mother happens to be Grammy-nominated singer Dionne Farris. Farris used to work with Arrested Development, and she’s known for her songs “Hopeless” and “I Know.” The musical gene passed on to Yung Baby Tate who went viral for her own catchy affirmation track, “I Am.” Heard it? It starts off with “I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am rich, I am that b*tch.”

Yung Baby Tate — whose real name is Tate Sequoyah Farris — is also a Georgia local. She’s already worked with artists such as Flo Milli and 6lack, and she’s signed to Issa Rae’s label, Raedio.

Who’s returning to ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’?

There won’t be too many strange faces when the show returns on July 5. Spice, Sierra Gates, Scrappy, Momma Dee, Bambi, Kirk and Rasheeda Frost, Karlie Redd, Yung Joc, and Erica and Safaree are all coming back.

Per VH1’s description, the show will focus on more than just the drama this time. The Wrap reports it will be “bringing music back to the forefront with a female-led ensemble in the epicenter of hip-hop navigating careers, business empires, layered family dynamics, mental health, and fighting for Black liberation during a national reckoning amid a global pandemic.”

Tune in for the season 10 on Monday, July 5 at 8 p.m. EST.
