Lucifer Morningstar has run into his siblings on Earth numerous times including Amenadiel (played by DB Woodside), Uriel (Michael Imperioli) and Remiel (Vinessa Vidotto). In season three, he was reunited with his sister Azrael, who is known as the Angel of Death. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about Azrael and the actor who plays her.

Who played Azrael in Lucifer?

Lucifer’s younger sister Azrael, also known as Ray-Ray, was played by Charlyne Yi.

Yi is an American actress, comedian, musician and writer from Los Angeles, California.

Lucifer fans will most likely recognise Yi from her role as Dr Chi Park on the Fox medical drama House.

Yi is also well known for her voice work, including Ruby on Steven Universe, Chloe Par on We Bare Bears and Alice on Summer Camp Island.

Yi left the University of California to pursue a full-time career in comedy, making her first film debut in Judd Apatow’s 2007 film, Knocked Up.

In Knocked Up, she played the role of Jodi alongside Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl and Paul Rudd.

Most recently, Yi appeared in the guest role of Lucy on NBC’s Good Girls.

In Good Girls, she starred alongside Christina Hendricks, Retta and Mae Whitman.

Her other well-known television credits include 30 Rock, Cold Case. Conan, Love Bites and Twin Peaks.

Yi made her screenwriting debut in 2009. Her film, Paper Heart, starring herself and Michael Cera won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

She has also starred in several films including The Disaster Artist, This is 40, Jexi and Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich.

Will Azrael return in Lucifer seasons 5 and 6?

At the moment, there has been no official announcement regarding the return of Azrael.

Azrael has a long-running history in the TV series Lucifer.

When she first appeared in season one, it was revealed that Azrael had befriended Ella (Aimee Garcia) when she was just eight-years-old.

Azrael would occasionally stop by and visit Ella and at one point, she told Ella that she was a ghost named Ray-Ray to try and hide the fact she was in invisible angel.

She later admitted to her brother that Ella’s move to LA was designed purely so she could bring her two favourite people together so they could have each other when she could not be there for them both.

The last viewers saw of Azrael was her watching Lucifer and Ella together from a distance in season three, episode 21.

With God arriving on Earth in season five, part one finale, there is a huge possibility Azrael could appear in future episodes.

Season five, episode nine, is titled Family Dinner and will see God sit down with Lucifer, Michael, Amenadiel and Maze after their fallout in part one.

With Inbar Lavi confirmed to reprise her role as Eve and Tricia Helfer as The Goddess, perhaps there will be a place for Lucifer’s sister, Azrael.

Additionally, Ella is now the only person in Lucifer’s life who does not know Lucifer’s true identity, so there is always the possibility Azrael will return and spill his secret.

Fans will have to wait until season five, part two returns later this year to find out if Azrael will return.
