BBC 5Live host Naga Munchetty regularly presents her show from Monday to Wednesday at 10am but it was Clare McDonnell who greeted listeners on September 6. While there has been no announcement regarding Naga taking a break from the show, Clare introduced herself and the topics she would be covering.

Clare began: “Hello welcome, great to have your company this Monday morning, Clare McDonnell in for Naga Munchetty this morning.

“How are you doing? Fantastic to have your company, we have so much to get through this morning.”

Clare also took to Twitter to announce she would be on the show, writing: “About to go live @bbc5live. Talking #SarahHarding with @CoppaFeelPeople and #Brianhiggins from @XenomaniaRCRDS who wrote and produced many of #GirlsAloud Hits.”

Fans of the show replied to Clare’s tweet, with one writing: “Nice to hear you running this slot today- always pleased when you pop up on the schedule (Love @TVNaga01 too, of course).

Another added: “Oooh a change in presenters today! Love that, but where’s Naga?”

Neither Naga or the BBC have commented on her absence from her 5Live show.
