Outlander cast tease details of ‘exciting’ season six
Outlander season six is currently waiting to start production after months of delays. In the meantime, fans of the Starz series can watch Jamie Fraser star Sam Heughan and Dougal actor Graham travel across Scotland in Men in Kilts. The new series sees the pair explore old battlefields, sample whiskey and wind each other up. However, the pair weren’t always the best of friends.
Ahead of the release of Men in Kilts, actor Graham has admitted he “immediately hated” co-star Sam after Googling him.
The star explained it had nothing to do with Sam himself but rather the fact he’d landed a huge role on a major series.
Writing in Clanlands, the book which accompanies Men in Kilts, Graham confessed: “I remember the producer telling me they’d expected to find it very difficult to cast Jamie Fraser but they’d found him straight away.
“His name was Sam Heughan. I googled him, of course.

“Handsome, almost to the point of annoying, and very little in the way of credits, he’d just
landed the lead in a major multi million-dollar TV show based on an incredibly popular series of books (seven at that point) – so a ‘multi-season option’.
“That lucky b*****d, I thought, and immediately hated him.”
Graham recalled meeting Sam for the first time and was impressed by his handshake.
“I do remember being impressed he had a fi rm handshake,” the actor wrote.
“I place great store by someone’s handshake. Jamie Fraser cannot have a limp handshake. “Talking of Jamie, I gather he’s described in the books as being as tall as the hearth of a particularly spacious fire place. By those standards, Sam is somewhat vertically challenged.”
Despite joking he “hated” Sam at first, the pair are close friends and seven years later are even producing a TV show together.
Graham’s comments in the book come after Sam spoke about his close friendship with Claire Fraser star Caitriona Balfe.

The pair have played lovers Claire and Jamie since the series began back in 2014.
Starting out as co-stars, the pair are now producers and worked on the fifth season together.
Having worked so closely together for a number of years, Sam admitted they are like brother and sister.
“There’s an ease and comfort when working together and of course we have our disagreements but ultimately always we have each other’s backs,” he divulged.
“I insisted during Season One negotiations that our fees/contracts were the same and that we were always in it together.”
Sam added: ““We confide in each other and I consider her one of my closest friends.
“It’s hard not to have fun on set and we laugh a lot, both sharing a rather childish sense of humour.
“We know each other’s ‘tells’ and many a time Cait has given me a shoulder to lean on or offered some good advice.”
Outlander seasons 1-5 are available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video and Starz.
