Ozark: Jason Bateman say series four ending is 'satisfying'
Heading into the final ever season of Ozark on Netflix, it’s anyone’s guess just what exactly lies ahead for Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney). The money laundering husband and wife duo face arguably their deadliest test yet, with Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery), Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) and the Kansas City Mob just three enemies baying for blood. But with the backing of the Navarro Cartel, will Marty and Wendy come out on top? Actor Bateman hinted at what’s to come.
Bateman and Linney’s characters made it to the fourth and final season of Ozark by the skin of their teeth just as all hope looked lost.
With the FBI breathing down their necks and a scheming Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) plotting to overthrow them from their position in the cartel’s criminal enterprise, they headed to Mexico in the final moments of season three with the odds stacked against them.
However, the cartel’s murderous leader Omar (Felix Solis) had other ideas and had trusty hitman Nelson (Nelson Bonilla) take out the backstabbing lawyer instead.
As Ozark fans will know, however, this is no way means Wendy and Marty are safe from the rivals or the cartel itself.

And seeing as season four has been billed as the show’s “most explosive” yet, there’s bound to be plenty more shocks and twists on the way.
In fact, Bateman told Jimmy Fallon on his NBC talk show earlier this week what fans can expect – including more “mistakes” from Marty and Wendy.
“It’s a really, really good group of people,” Bateman began as he discussed the cast.
“And the writers, I don’t know how they keep escalating the danger without killing us or putting us in jail.
“We make as many mistakes as you possibly can without being killed or incarcerated – and we’ve got more in store.”
Delving deeper, Bateman teased: “This next year, we’re two weeks into shooting, it’s gonna be the last year,
“We’re gonna do 14 instead of 10 episodes but we’re going to split it into two so it’ll be like season four and season five, but they’re shorter.
“We do land the plane in a very satisfactory way,” Bateman hinted.

When Fallon asked if he was happy with how the story concludes, Bateman revealed he is.
So with plenty more mistakes seemingly in the pipeline according to Bateman, just what will happen to Marty and Wendy?
And given it’s a “satisfactory” ending, will fans be satisfied with seeing one of the Byrde figureheads bow out of the series in grizzly circumstances?
Fans will have to wait until season four rolls around to find out what’s in store for sure.
However, it hasn’t stopped many expressing their excitement at the prospect of seeing Wendy and Marty back.
Replying to the snippet of Bateman and Fallon’s interview on YouTube, one wrote: “Seeing the tall blond woman get whacked right at the end of the last series was brutal, looking forward to its return.”
A second concurred: “I want more Ozark!! Jason Bateman absolutely kills it in that show!!
“If you haven’t seen it you’re missing out on an amazing show!!”
Ozark is available to stream on Netflix now.
