The fourth and final episode of Hollington Drive aired on Wednesday evening, with ITV viewers tuning in to find out the truth behind the disappearance of schoolboy Alex. The crime drama follows sisters Theresa (played by Anna Maxwell Martin) and Helen (Rachael Stirling) as they attempt to dig themselves out of trouble following a botched police investigation. However, when fans of the show tuned in for the finale, many spotted an inaccuracy in the plot.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Hollington Drive on ITV.

In Wednesday night’s finale, viewers saw Theresa question her sister after becoming suspicious of her.

The pair were driving in a car when Theresa burst into tears, begging her sister to tell the truth about what she knew regarding the crime.

As tensions rose, Helen sharply turned the steering wheel causing the car to flip over and crash.

Viewers then saw the sisters in the wreckage, with seemingly minor injuries, despite the fact the airbags had failed to go off.

Fans swiftly took to Twitter to blast the show for the fact there were no airbags in the car and that the sisters weren’t injured.

“#HollingtonDrive cmon people what happened to ACCURACY – no airbags?? Wtf?” @simonmoxley fumed.

“No airbags? Ridiculous #HollingtonDrive,” @steveclarkuk added.

@suhailpat said: “No airbags? Seriously? Lol #HollingtonDrive.” (sic)
