Sexy Beasts is one of Netflix’s more unusual shows, premiering on July 21 and bringing together a mystery group of singletons. The streaming platform hasn’t released much information about the upcoming show, with the trailer revealing little. However, Express.co.uk has pieced together the details of the new blind dating show

Who is in the cast of Sexy Beasts?

Viewers will be familiar with how dating shows work, but they may not be familiar with how Sexy Beasts works.

Operating as a mix of First Dates and The Masked Singer, Sexy Beasts is a show all about blind dating taken to the extreme.

The series has brought on board Kristyan Mallett, one of Hollywood’s best prosthetic artists, with a prolific career across over 200 projects.

Some of these include Saint Maud, Paddington 2, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Wonder Woman.

She has helped mask each guest star as an animal or mythical creature, with their identities only being revealed after the date.

So far, the cast for the series hasn’t been announced, with only the narrator of the show being revealed ahead of the premiere.

The trailer for the series has given some insight, with most of the main character’s alter egos being revealed.

There looks to be a varied selection of colourful characters, some as recognisable creatures and other as strange, abstract beings.

Netflix has not disclosed the names of the characters, with only educated guesses helping to decipher what some people are supposed to be.

Express.co.uk will update this story when more cast members are revealed.

Narrator – Rob Delaney

Rob Delaney will be providing the commentary over the series, helping viewers make sense of who is who and what is what.

Delaney has starred in several blockbusters and hit TV series, including Deadpool 2, Birdgirl, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw and Catastrophe.

Fans will only hear his voice without the show, with the star not making a physical appearance.

When news hit of Delaney’s casting, Simon Welton, creator and Executive Producer for Lion TV said: “Making ‘Sexy Beasts’ for Netflix has been an incredibly exciting process.

“With an international cast featuring some truly brilliant characters, a host of prosthetics which look extraordinary in 4K and with Rob Delaney narrating, the viewers are in for a real treat.”

As for the remainder of the cast, through the trailer viewers can spot several cast members suited and booted as their respective animal alter-egos.

Starting from the beginning of the trailer, there is an Ox, Panda, Rhino, Armadillo, Scarecrow, Triceratops, and a Demon.

Also seen is a red and yellow Alien, Dolphin, a pink Elf, Hammerhead Shark, Mandrill and Insect.

Each will pair up for a date they’ll never forget and at the end of it, they will choose who they want to see again.

When they choose, they will reveal their identities to one another, deciding if they want to see each other again.

Fans have reacted to the trailer of the series, with many of them commenting on YouTube about their thoughts on the show.

One fan commented: “Could you fall in love with someone based on personality alone?’ Friend, allow me to introduce you to Internet Romances in the 1990s.”

Another added: “Spoiler: they’ll all be reasonably attractive.”

“This looks like something out of Interdimensional Cable,” a third posted, referencing Rick and Morty.

Sexy Beasts debuts on Netflix on July 21.
