The line-up for the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing is currently being revealed as the professional dancers work on their group routines. It won’t be long before the celebrity contestants are told who they will be dancing with and start to learn key steps. However, it’s now been reported bosses are concerned after dancer Nadiya Bychkova has tested positive for coronavirus.
So far, Tom Fletcher, John Whaite, AJ Odudu, Dan Walker, Katie McGlynn, Rhys Stephenson, Sara Davies and Robert Webb have been confirmed to be taking part on this year’ Strictly.
The professionals are currently working on group routines and preparations for the new series.
However bosses are said to be panicking after one professional has tested positive for the virus meaning cast and crew must self isolate for 10 days.
With the launch of the series still weeks away, it is unlikely it will cause a delay to the series.
However, it would mean professionals will have less time to work on their routines and may have to train remotely.
An unknown source told The Sun: “This isn’t exactly the dream start, obviously BBC bosses are panicking.
“They are taking every caution to be Covid secure, and keep everyone safe, but can’t control everything.
“Nadiya tested positive during one of the first meet-ups, during the studio rig.”
They added anyone in contact with Nadiya would have to self-isolate to ensure they stop the spread of the virus.
Strictly Come Dancing declined to comment on the reports.
