Nina Wadia has admitted that being eliminated first on Strictly Come Dancing impacted her mental health.
The former EastEnders star, 52, and her professional partner Neil Jones left the show last month after facing Katie McGlynn in the show's dreaded dance-off.
Speaking candidly on a new podcast, Nina admitted that she was "very down" and "embarrassed" after she was the first star voted off the show, adding she felt as though she had let fans down.
Talking on The Lads Dads And Couple Beers Podcast, she said that the exit came as a "big shock" and that she wasn't "expecting it".
Nina said: "I wasn’t expecting it to happen the way it happened, and it happened very quickly. It was all very surreal for me, and when I came out I was very down.
"My mental health, I’ve got to tell… I was down. That was from a lot of different feelings."
Explaining why, she continued: "There was a feeling of embarrassment coming out as early as I did, there was a feeling of: ‘Did I let people down, did I let myself down?'. All these questions going on in my head.
"And then [fans’] reactions… [saying]: ‘Well no… you shouldn’t have come out, you were robbed’, and I’m like: ‘I needed that!’. I needed that kind of… almost validation, to think I wasn’t going crazy. I didn’t think I was that bad!"
"Then you realise: ‘OK hang on, I need to separate a reality show from what is actually real life’. Reality shows are so the opposite of reality."
Last month, Nina and her professional partner Neil failed to impress the judges — Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas — with their Tango to Would I Lie To You? by Eurythmics.

Speaking after their fate on the show was revealed, Nina said: "It’s been really fun, thank you so much. [Neil] is incredible, thank you."
While professional dancer Neil added: "You’ve been a dream. Second partner on the show for me. I wouldn’t have wanted anybody else. You’ve been fantastic and so much fun.
"Literally, we’re like a married couple — you’ve got both husbands here tonight! It’s been so much fun together, you said you wanted to dance and you’ve done two fantastic dances and I’m really, really, really proud of you."
