How many episodes are in SWAT season 6?
SWAT season six made its debut on Friday, October 7, on CBS in the USA, with an episode called Thai Hard.
As of yet, the network hasn’t confirmed the exact number of episodes fans can expect from this series.
This is much like other CBS shows, such as the entire NCIS franchise with the show’s episode counts still unknown.
However, there is a good indication of just how long it is going to be, going by SWAT’s past seasons.

SWAT season three was supposed to have 22 instalments in total but was cut short by just one episode.
This is because the cast and crew weren’t able to finish filming before the world went into lockdown in March 2020.
The coronavirus pandemic went on to impact the fourth series as well, with production companies having to oblige to various protocols.
So season four of SWAT consisted of 18 episodes, the shortest series yet for the drama.
But the first two seasons of SWAT were made up of 22 episodes each on CBS.
Season five was initially going to have 18, but the team were able to film quickly and more effectively this time around.
This meant series five being pushed back up to its usual 22 episodes, which couldn’t be done for seasons three and four.
Given that there are no more major delays, fans can expect 22 episodes for season six of SWAT.

If this is the case, then this is a good indication of how series six will play out in terms of scheduling.
With 22 episodes, there should be a winter break before the end of 2022, with several weeks off in the new year.
When it does return, it is believed SWAT’s latest season will continue until May 2023.
Episode two will follow up from what happened in the series six premiere of SWAT.
Entitled Thai Another Day, episode two’s promo sees Hondo (played by Shemar Moore) on a personal mission.
In the teaser, Hondo says: “That kid saved my life, that’s why I’ve got to find him.”
After some investigating, the team comes across an empty cage, with David Kay (Jay Harrington) pointing out: “We’re in the right place, we’re just too late.”
SWAT season 6 is available to watch every Friday on CBS in the USA. A UK release date hasn’t been announced.
