Masked Singer: Viking reveals clues to identify
Every time Viking steps on The Masked Singer stage he delivers a surprising performance. Last weekend, ITV viewers tuned in to see him perform his version of Take On Me by A-Ha. The soft and almost sombre vocals threw the panel, but those watching at home knew exactly who was hiding behind the giant costume. And more importantly, many were convinced the celebrity was “trolling” Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora with an extremely obvious clue.
Before his most recent performance, Viking said in his VT: “As for my identity, I’m never going to give it up.
“Vikings might have been around for millennia, but my career has been one of billions – it was over a billion people that watched me to my thing.
“I rely on tools that I was born with, and tools that I create.”
The song Viking chose to sing, viewers thought was the biggest clue given to date which unveiled the famous face underneath the outrageous costume.
Taking to Twitter to comment, thousands suggested it was, in fact, Morten Harket from A-Ha.

Viking’s identity has been a topic of great discussion on Reddit, someone posted a thread titled: “If Viking is indeed Morten Harket, then he just flat out trolled the audience/judges by PERFORMING HIS OWN GODDAMNED SONG…
“Which is hilarious. Even though normally you are not allowed to sing your own songs through a contract.
“I bet that Morten probably really liked the idea of trolling the judges/audience by singing his own f*****g song, that he convinced the producers to do so otherwise.”
Someone wrote underneath: “Morten Harket has finessed his way through this competition. THE DOUBLE BLUFF!”
Another wrote on the forum: “This is Morten Harket singing an acoustic version of Take On Me and it is the exact same voice.”
A video of A-Ha performing a live version of Take One Me from MTV Unplugged was posted to the threat and a user wrote underneath: “It’s too close to be a coincidence!” While someone else wrote: “It’s DEFINITELY him.”
To add to this, Morten is Norweign and Vikings are Norse people from southern Scandinavia.
But his name has still not been mentioned by anyone on the panel.
As for the other clues Viking has given, in the first VT he said: “You are curious who I am, I am curious too, and that’s the thing about a Viking, we are a curious kind.

“We are explorers, we forge our own way. We discover answers, and in my career, throughout this competition, I’ll be looking for a voice.”
Initially, viewers thought the clues suggested Ricky Wilson, Tom Jones, Bear Grylls and Brian Cox.
After performing Songbird by Fleetwood Mac, Viking gave another clue: “I may be a Viking, but I also wear another kind of armour.”
The second time he took to the stage, Viking displayed his vocal ability with Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles.
The clip which accompanied his appearance told the panel: “Being a Viking, you live by your instincts.”
He also said his “footprints are across great countries outside of my own” and claimed that “doing [his] own thing underlines everything, including breaking the rules”.
“Sometimes success can be found when I break something. Tonight, the battle calls for me once more.”
The two truths and a lie were: “I am the proud owner of a Blue Peter badge. / My first hit dialled M for Murder. / My early career relied on brotherly love.”
Other names thrown into the ring are Rick Astley and DJ Chris Evans, as well as Jerome Flynn.
The Masked Singer returns next Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
