Jennie Bond hilariously thought WFH stands for ‘what fish are you’ in tonight’s episode of The Weakest Link.
The former royal correspondent was a contestant on the rebooted BBC show this evening along with fellow journalists Sarah Smith, Kay Burley, Keme Nzerem, Vanessa Feltz, Michelle Ackerley, Matt Allwright and Lucrezia Millarini.
Jennie’s brilliant blunder took place when presenter Romesh Ranganathan asked: ‘The abbreviation WFH usually stands for what three-word phrase?’
Before buzzing in her incorrect answer, Jennie asked Romesh to repeat the question, which he did.
‘What fish are you,’ she then said, instead of giving the correct answer, working from home.
Romesh expressed his shock immediately after the round came to an end, commenting: ‘Wow, this is a game that keeps on giving.’
‘I decided to bank and in banking I spoke over your first words,’ Jennie explained. ‘So it was total confusion. I didn’t know what you’d asked me, and I certainly didn’t know the answer.’
‘What question did you think “what fish are you” would be the answer to?’ Romesh joked.
After being voted out from the game, Jennie admitted that her gaffe will ‘haunt me for a long time’.
‘I do know what it stands for,’ she insisted. ‘My brain was a blur, don’t ask me why I said “what fish are you”. I mean, I don’t know what I’m talking about.’
Tonight’s episode was won by Matt who took home £12,700 for his charity, Launch Pad Reading.
‘It was really fun to take part,’ he said following the game. ‘It was intense, there was a lot of stuff going on, the voting off, I don’t like that.’
‘But at the end of the day,’ Matt added, ‘it was a good result. We got a lot of money for a good cause.’
The Weakest Link airs Wednesday night at 6.30pm on BBC One.
