Ben Shephard was forced to freeze one contestant out on Thursday afternoon's Tipping Point, after she got a number of questions wrong.

Unlucky sports student Jasmine earned £0 in round one after the pressure proved too much in the ITV studios.

To start with, Jasmine struggled to beat her rivals to the buzzer, only to land on her feet with a question about the world of sport.

Despite getting the answer right, Jasmine's luck ran out soon after, as zero counters fell into her tray.

Ben exclaimed: "Oh no! Would you believe it?

"Sadly, Jasmine finally you get a counter in the machine and it rides and doesn't drop."

Near the end of the round, Jasmine was the only remaining player with the opportunity to play, as Ben fired a series of questions in her direction.

However, she crumbled under the pressure and got question after question wrong before the cameras.

Reassuring the nervous player, Ben consoled: "It's always the pressure of leaving it right till the end."

However, Jasmine had one chance remaining to make it through to the semi-final, as Ben asked her a penalty question on the subject of fashion.

He asked: "In which century was the fashion designer Coco Chanel born?"

In a hurry, Jasmine slammed the buzzer and guessed: "The 18th century."

Feeling sympathetic, Ben revealed the answer was, in fact, the 19th century, as Jasmine mourned: "Oh my God, that's what I was going to say in the first place."

Holding her hands to her head, Jasmine winced as Ben apologetically revealed she would be eliminated from the competition.

He said: "I'm afraid you're wrong, so we're going to have to freeze you out."

Leaving with her head held high, Jasmine thanked Ben for a great day on the show, wishing the other players the best of luck.
